The OPEL SKYLINERS host Karlsruhe on sunday

The BBL playoffs are not here yet, but every game is important and the OPEL SKYLINERS can not afford any letdowns. Frankfurt was hoping to present their new player Kavossy Franklin, but he injured his ankle in the last team practice Down Under. "I like to follow the saying that all obstacles make you stronger and with all the obstacles, we have had this season, it can only make us stronger", said assistant coach Simon Cote.

The OPEL SKYLINERS are looking to get back to the top of the standings. Against Schwelm, captain Pascal Roller had a sensational game, scoring 29 points. "Against Karlsruhe, anyone can step up, Chris Williams will be back. Schwelm was a game where I stepped up, against Karlsruhe someone else can", said guard Pascal Roller.

Frankfurt had an easy time with Karlsruhe in their away game, winning 107-71. However, in pre-season, the opponent was able to defeat Frankfurt. "No team is a cakewalk. We know Karlsruhe is an improved team. The key will be to be mentally focused and play them just as if they were ALBA Berlin", said a cautious Simon Cote.

In this game, there will be one very interesting duel between the two top scorers Chris Williams and Narcisse Ewodo. Ewodo is averaging 20.8 points per game. In the first game, Ewodo scored 25 points, as did Williams. "We need to watch Ewodo closely. He is a very creative player and if we can control him, then it will be easy to control Karlsruhe", said Pascal Roller.

Karlsruhe is in ninth place in the BBL and has been playing teams very tough lately. Last weekend, they upset ALBA Berlin 70-68. They have a youngster, Rouven Roessler, who scored 43 points in the last two games. "Roessler is a guy who can score two points one game and 30 points in the next. He is always dangerous", says Jukka Matinen. "They have a good running game and can penetrate a lot. The key will be to stop them from the outside", says Alex King.

Many of the injured players like Panteliadis and Matinen are back practicing and should see action on Sunday. Bernd Kruel has also recovered from the flu. This matchup should be a lot closer and more exciting than the first blowout victory by the OPEL SKYLINERS.
